FYS #6: “Mistakes” by David Baron

Friday YouTube Series #6: “Mistakes” by David Baron

Lyrics:

Mistakes
Words and Music by David Baron

Hey girl where do you come from
And where do you run
After the mess you made

I stand by thinking of
The things I have done
And all these mistakes I made

Did you run
Did you run
Did you run
Did you look for information
Did you run
Did you run
Did you run
When I didn’t give you enough attention

Cause you said you would be right there
Now you’re gone, now you’re gone, now you’re gone
Yeah you said you would be right there
So come on, come on, come on
What do you have to say
Oh come on, come on
After all of the mistakes you’ve made

Hey girl take a picture of
The boy that you love
Cause someday hell be gone

And you’ll stand by wondering what
You could have done
And how you’ll ever carry on

Cause you said you would be right there
Now you’re gone, now you’re gone, now you’re gone
Yeah you said you would be right there
So come on, oh come on, oh come on
What do you have to say
Oh come on, oh come on
After all of the mistakes you’ve made

FYS #4: “Born To Run” by Bruce Springsteen (Super Bowl Week!)

Friday YouTube Series #4: “Born To Run” by Bruce Springsteen

Performed by David Baron
Mixed by Scott Effman

Who isn’t pumped for The Boss’ halftime show at the Super Bowl this Sunday? He rocked it with that huge choir at the inauguration concert, and his live shows are hands down the best around. You know the E Street Band is gonna deliver come Super Bowl Sunday. I was pissed earlier this month when he got snubbed for an Oscar nod for “The Wrestler”, but I’ve been rockin out to his new CD all week so that makes up for it.

And now the big question: what do you think he’s gonna play? Here’s my picks for his setlist:

1. Workin On A Dream
2. Dancing In The Dark
3. Born In The U.S.A.
4. Born To Run

What do you think his setlist is gonna be? What do you think of the new album?

Rockin’ out to Rosalita,
David

Lyrics:

Standing Still

So you tell me everything will be all right
When I lost my legs and in my head Im drowning
But can you tell me that Im going to win this fight
When Im not so sure I have the cure inside of me

Distance kills us when its within us
All my friends in all our stories
Oh my god how we worry now
That well never work it out

Im feeling lost and a little lonely
I think I need love but who am I kidding
I better get a grip on myself before I give a little bit to somebody else
And Im so tired of standing still
When my minds like its running on a wheel
I feel a little lost and not myself
So I guess I better be with somebody else tonight

If you see me on the streets out late at night
In the parking lots or the crowded spots on Sutter Street
Will you walk with me to the closest neon sign
Have a drink or two till we get through the barriers we been hiding

Cause distance kills us when its within us
And all my friends in all our stories
Oh my god how we worry now
That well never work it out

Im feeling lost and a little lonely
I think I need love but who am I kidding
I better get a grip on myself before I give a little bit to somebody else
And Im so tired of standing still
When my minds like its running on a wheel
I feel a little lost and not myself
So I guess I better be with somebody else tonight

I feel a little lost
I feel a little lost
I feel a little lost
I feel a little lost

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE • January 9, 2009

LA and San Francisco CD Release Parties SOLD OUT!
DAVID BARON MARKS HOMECOMING SHOW WITH FLORIDA CD RELEASE PARTY

Delray Beach, FL — Singer-songwriter David Baron will extend his nationwide tour to the east coast this February to celebrate the release of his self-titled debut at City Limits, a 600-capacity music venue on the Atlantic strip in Delray Beach.

Baron’s Florida CD Release Party on Saturday Feb. 28 also marks his homecoming show, as the Plantation, Florida native left South Florida to attend Stanford University in 2002.

A passionate singer, gifted pianist and insightful songwriter, Baron will perform his unique brand of piano rock featured on the six original tracks he wrote for his first solo EP David Baron.

“We receive literally hundreds of CDs from emerging artists each week, and it’s rare to find one as developed and impressive as David Baron’s,” said Lee Abrams, Chief Programming Officer of XM Satellite Radio. “David demonstrates a technical excellence balanced with a mature approach to song construction and attitude that are among the key foundations of successful music. We will begin airing him on our Unsigned Channel shortly, and I would be surprised if he remained ‘Unsigned’ for very long.”

En route to his homecoming show in Delray Beach, Baron will play 5 shows at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT, including performances on TV and radio, a live artist showcase and a headlining show.

David Baron’s two west coast CD Release Parties sold out legendary venues the Viper Room (Los Angeles) and Cafe du Nord (San Francisco) in Fall 2008.

His LA CD Release Party included a guest appearance by The Bryan Brothers (#1 World-Ranked Men’s Doubles Tennis Team), who sat in with Baron’s 5-piece band to play Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer” with Mike Bryan on drums and brother Bob on organ.

“Mike and I are big fans of David and are lucky to call him our friend,” said Bob.  “He is a musical genius and his new album is awesome. We recently played with the Counting Crows in Tampa but being able to play with David in such a historic venue as the Viper Room so close to home was equally incredible.”

Baron first hooked up with the Bryans in September 2008 while performing at their inaugural Bryan Brothers All-Star Tennis Smash charity gala in Thousand Oaks, CA. There, the 24-year-old singer shared the stage with stars Brandi Carlile and Evan and Jaron, and played to an all-star crowd that included Tennis Hall of Famer Andre Agassi and WTA star Maria Sharapova.

Tickets for David Baron’s CD Release Party at City Limits are $10, and are available at the door and online at www.citylimitsdelray.com.  Doors open at City Limits (19 NE 3rd Ave) at 8:00 pm for adults 18-and-older.
