World No. 1 Tennis Doubles Duo Bryan Brothers Will Be Guest Performers
DAVID BARON MAKES DEBUT AT HOLLYWOOD’S VIPER ROOM
Los Angeles, CA — Singer-songwriter David Baron will make his debut appearance as solo artist this month in Los Angeles, where he will be joined by a pair of celebrity guests whose endorsement lends credence to the talent of this rising star.
Joining Baron for his CD release party at Hollywood’s Viper Room on Saturday, Nov. 22 will be Bob and Mike Bryan, the No. 1 world-ranked doubles team on the ATP World Tour.
A passionate singer, gifted pianist and insightful songwriter, Baron will perform his unique brand of piano rock featured on six original tracks he wrote for his first solo EP David Baron. Baron co-produced the EP with Grammy-award winning producer Stephen Short, who discovered Augustana and has worked with such artists as Phil Collins and Remy Zero.
The Bryan Brothers, winners of six Grand Slam doubles titles, are not new to the music stage. Last month they rocked Tampa’s Ford Amphitheater with Counting Crows in front of 25,000 fans, joining the band on stage for the song “Hanging Around.” Bob played keyboards and Mike played rhythm acoustic guitar, with both brothers taking brief solos during the song.
“Mike and I are big fans of David and are lucky to call him our friend,” said Bob. “He is a musical genius and his new album is awesome. We are looking forward to joining him onstage at the Viper Room. Being able to play with David in such a historic venue so close to home will be incredible.”
“We receive literally hundreds of CDs from emerging artists each week, and it’s rare to find one as developed and impressive as David Baron’s,” said Lee Abrams, Chief Programming Officer of XM Satellite Radio. “David demonstrates a technical excellence balanced with a mature approach to song construction and attitude that are among the key foundations of successful music. We’ll be watching his growth as an artist carefully and with high hopes.”
Baron first hooked up with the Bryans in September while performing at their inaugural Bryan Brothers All-Star Tennis Smash charity gala at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, CA. There, the 24-year-old singer shared the stage with stars Brandi Carlile and Evan and Jaron, and played to an all-star crowd that included Tennis Hall of Famer Andre Agassi and WTA star Maria Sharapova.
Baron was formerly the lead singer and songwriter of the San Francisco-based rock group The Spins, which he formed while attending Stanford University. The group played together for five years and was awarded Best Music Video in San Francisco in 2006 by the Bay Area pop/rock radio station Alice 97.3.
At the Viper Room, the Bryans will join Baron for a rendition of Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer,” a song the three performed at the twins’ charity gala.
