David Baron to Record with Bryan Bros

July 21, 2009

David Baron and #1-ranked Men’s Doubles Tennis Team the Bryan Brothers will head into the studio with producer Ralph Churchwell to record their first EP as The Bryan Bros Band Feat. David Baron this July in Los Angeles.

Baron first met the Bryans at their All-Star Tennis Smash in LA, where he won a coveted spot opening for Brandi Carlile and Evan and Jaron at the Bryans’ charity gala to raise money for the Bryan Brothers Foundation.  Baron and the twins became fast friends, and after jamming together in their home studio, the three of them hit the road to play shows at tennis tournaments in San Jose, Delray Beach, Houston, and finally, Wimbledon in 2009.

Baron and the Bryans began co-writing songs while traveling on the road together, writing approximately one song at each of their tour stops.  The shows featured Baron on lead vocals, piano and guitar, Bob Bryan on bass and keyboards, and Mike Bryan on drums.

New York Times and Tennis Channel Feature David Baron and Bryan Bros at Wimbledon

July 21, 2009

When David Baron performed at Wimbledon with the Bryan Bros this June, journalists from the New York Times and the Tennis Channel were on hand to document the live concert event.

The concert was on Saturday night after the first week of matches at Wimbledon, and took place at the Hand in Hand pub in Wimbledon Village just down the street from the All England Tennis Club.  A blogger for the New York Times took photos of the show and wrote an article entitled “Bryans Play (Music) at the Pubs” in the Straight Sets: Tennis Blog of the New York Times. The article can be viewed by clicking the link below.

The Tennis Channel was also present to film the show, which aired as part of their Wimbledon Village Feature with Justin Gimelstob. Click on the link below to watch Gimelstob introducing The Bryan Bros Band Feat. David Baron just before the band kicks off with the single from their forthcoming EP, “Let It Rip.”
